On Wednesday, October 7th, Jazzlynn Galdamez and Ashlynn Ericson received Salem City’s City of Kindness Award. They were recognized by Mayor Simons and the City Council. Jazzlynn was recognized as a student who gives her all and helps others feel good about themselves as fellow learners in the classroom. Ashlynn and her family were not able to attend.
Salem, Utah, officially became a Certified City of Kindness in August 2025, in partnership with the One Kind Act a Day organization. Led by Mayor Cristy Simons, the city promotes the "Kindness Creates Peace" initiative, focusing on community-wide kindness acts, awards for students, and fostering a supportive, small-town atmosphere.
