Slam poetry is a form of performance poetry that combines storytelling, theater, and passionate spoken word to convey personal or social messages. Created for live audience engagement, it emphasizes emotion, rhythm, and authenticity, often in a competitive, judged setting where poets perform original work within strict time limit.
Salem Junior High School held our annual poetry slam on Thursday, April 30. There were over 60 students who performed their poetry. The following students are advancing to the District Slam on Tuesday, May 5th.
