The Day of the Dead is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.
For Day of the Dead, a collection of items set up to honor and welcome the spirits of deceased loved ones is called an ofrenda. The items on the ofrenda are referred to as offerings. While the entire structure is often called an "altar," the term ofrenda specifically refers to the offerings placed on it.
There will be an Ofrenda in the Library beginning on Wednesday.
